Campia's 2010 Gymnastics Calendar is now available for purchase at a cost of $15. Each month features one of our competitive groups in a coordinated theme. Kyna Harvey did a fabulous job taking photos of each of our coaches and competitive athletes.

Members,
Over the past few weeks we have all seen the devastating effects of the earthquake in Haiti. As you may know, Cygnus Gymnastics has challenged Campia to a fundraising effort for Haiti in honor of one of their past coaches who passed away in the tragedy.
We are responding by hosting a Recycling Blitz this Saturday, February 6th from 10:00 to 2:00 at Dominion in Mount Pearl. We will be set up in the front entrance of Dominion and Evergreen Recycling has offered to pick up the donations.
We are looking for volunteers to help out with the Blitz and we are hoping you will all show your support by dropping by with recyclables or a small monetary donation. Please let all your family and friends know about this event. All money raised from this event will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Fund. Please contact Annette Hodder at darrylh@nf.sympatico.ca if you are able to volunteer on Saturday.
We have also established a donations box in the main lobby at Campia where we will be accepting donations to the Canadian Red Cross to assist in the relief efforts. We are inviting all members of Campia to make a donation, regardless of the amount.

To address the concerns of many parents regarding the H1N1 virus the Board of Campia has developed a policy with respect to same. The key points are as follows:
(1) Monitor your child and keep them at home if they exhibit any flu like symptoms. (2) If your child brings a water bottle to the gym ensure their name is on the bottle in clear view. Do not share water bottles with others. (3) Ensure gymnasts use hand sanitizer or wash hands with soap and water prior to entering the gym floor. (4) Wash hands with soap and water before and after snack . (5) Ensure gymnast uses hand sanitizer or washes hands with soap and water after practice. (6) Keep the gym as tidy as possible. Gymnasts are encouraged to pick up after themselves and place food containers, drink containers and used gymnastics tape in refuse containers. The virus may be able to be passed on the surface of these containers.
It is our goal to keep our gymnasts, their parents and our staff healthy throughout the pandemic.
